Catch 22 - A Land Dispute

Catch 22 - A Land Dispute The loss of biodiversity will be a crime to future generations.

This land dispute has been caused by the proposal for the construction of 22 residential properties at the cost of losing 3 acres of the 1% of Scottish land which stands as the only regenerating ancient woodland in Scotland. In response to this land dispute part of Balmaha's community has set up an initiative to nurture and preserve Balmaha's natural environment: Balmaha Biodiversity Community Act

ion (BBCA). This community group is proposing a community buy-out of not just the 3 acres of woodland but the full 60 acres of woodland behind Balmaha and so move the proposed construction of the 22 residential properties to the brown field site that is already present in Balmaha.
