As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we are always looking to support and inspire our local community. With this in mind, we have partnered with a local school that provides education for students that have additional social, emotional or mental health needs. The aim of ‘Project Head Start’ was to inspire and motivate students, by giving them work experience that resulted in real pay. The experience was made even more challenging when the students where interviewed for their job roles by our very own chairman, Jason Clark.

One parent said, “I love the idea that my son has been able to apply for a job, do the work, then get paid at the end. This will really help him in the real world”.

PEW Electrical is committed to meeting the needs of not only our staff, suppliers and customers but also, the community at large.

As part of PEW’s corporate and social responsibility ethos, Jason Clark hosted a two-day event at our warehouse facility in Barking for some students from the New Rush Hall School, as part of their careers programme. The aim of the programme is to get students involved in engineering and give them access to the industry. The student day involved an inspirational talk from Jason Clark, PEW chairman, who started his career via an apprenticeship scheme and was one of the first one hundred people in the U.K. to become a Master in his trade. New Rush Hall School is a school for disadvantaged children.

This morning’s staff training on the ‘Telephone Digital Switchover’ by Mike Goddard at ETL. As of 2023 copper phone lines will be withdrawn, shortly followed by the complete switch off of all analogue phone lines in 2025.
