Seeking an Experienced Garden Maintenance Operative

Location: Basingstoke & surrounding areas
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Role Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Garden Maintenance Operative to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining gardens and outdoor spaces for both residential and commercial clients. Your work will help ensure that every garden is kept neat, tidy, and vibrant throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:
• Grass cutting, edging, and lawn care
• Hedge trimming and pruning
• Weeding and general garden tidying
• Planting & seasonal maintenance tasks
• Leaf collection and disposal
• General garden waste removal
• Using garden machinery safely and efficiently
• Reporting any equipment issues or concerns to the team leader
• Providing excellent customer service and maintaining client relationships

Skills & Qualifications:
• Previous experience in garden maintenance or landscaping is preferred, but not essential
• Ability to use and maintain gardening equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, blowers)
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for outdoor work
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions
• Full UK driving license (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent time management and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This was a garden makeover we carried out last year for a customer, when they moved in it was just paving & stones which didn’t suit there needs having young children!
So we completely stripped the garden back to start from scratch, we installed new slatted panel fencing around the new lower patio area.
Then we laid new porcelain slabs for the patio areas with sleeper retaining the upper & lower areas also we fitted new inset drain covers to blend in.
Then we prepped & laid the new artificial grass adding decorative stones to edges & in between staggered path paving.
Now we have an all year round usable modern garden.

This was a part makeover which we left the original grass fitted but had no patio area & narrow path.
We pulled back the grass from the edges then fitted new slatted panel fencing on both sides. We then prepped for new patio area & path before we laid new grey 600x900 porcelain paving slabs.
We then relaid the grass cutting to fit new paving, the garden now has a new modern look.

Some nice new featheredge gates installed for a customer to enclose the rear garden & allow access to a parking space.
We used some large 175mm square post set in concrete then let them set for a week before we returned to hang the gates with all the fittings.
Did you know we supply & fit pedestrian garden gates, picket style gates, driveway (like above) & 5 bar gates, we can cater for a vast range to suit.

This garden had no paved areas so we dug out the ground, laid sub base & compacted. We then laid down some lovely sandstone patio pack paving on a full mortar bedding also the back of slabs where coated with a primer for better adhesion.
We then completed with using the Aspects Easi joint compound swept in to finish.

This is a picture of our kubota F3890 fitted with the Major Synergy cutting deck attached during a grass cut locally.
This deck is used as a finish mower which has a roller fitted at the rear to create some nice stripes!

This job was just a quick one to refresh to make more low maintenance.
We cleared all existing plants & stones along with majority of the rocks, then we laid new membrane to area then put new plum slate down to finish.

This was a job we carried out to let more light into an area.
We felled the trees then cut up & left the larger logs on site, we then used the chipper to reduce the branch waste to chip to stay on site for reuse as well.
This left the area with more light & easy to maintain in future.

This front garden overhaul was to clear front garden removing the grass & existing paths, then prep & lay new porcelian paving extending both front & gate entrances. We created 2x sett stone edged planting areas in which we planted some lovely taxus ball shrubs then covered remaining front area with Scottish pebbles for a lovely low maintenance garden.

This job was to remove existing path coating, we than dug out to lay a new base of scalping with new membrane underneath, we then laid new sandstone setts for edging followed by fresh new 10mm gravel for a new clean edged finished path!
