Emergency call out for a property where they said their lights in their kitchen and utility room has stopped working. After safely fault finding, i came across a lose neutral above one of the light fittings. This was repaired and lights restored.

If you have a problem with your property, do not wait for it to solve itself as this could’ve ended a lot differently if it wasn’t found as soon as possible 🔥

Today’s EICR is a perfect example of why regular electrical inspections are so important.

This property failed its EICR with multiple issues, the most serious being that there was no main protective conductor (earth) connected to the installation. Without a proper earth, protective devices such as RCDs may not operate correctly under certain fault conditions, significantly increasing the risk of electric shock.

The property also has an electric shower installed, making this defect particularly concerning. In the event of an earth fault, exposed metalwork could become live, creating a potentially life-threatening situation. 😳😳⚡️⚡️

I’ll be returning to install an earth electrode and carry out the necessary remedial work, along with rectifying the other defects identified during the inspection.

🔧 Fault Finding Success in Belfast City Centre! 🔧

Recently attended a luxury penthouse apartment in Belfast city centre where all lighting and extractor fans had stopped working across 4 bathrooms.

After carrying out fault-finding and testing, the issue was traced to a faulty relay, which had caused the fuse in the fused spur to blow. Once the relay was replaced and the spur fuse renewed, all bathroom lights and extractor fans were fully restored and operating as they should. ✅💡🌬️

Another happy customer and another fault efficiently diagnosed and repaired.

Another great project completed! ⚡️

We recently had the pleasure of carrying out electrical work for the team at Blue Houses Youth Club, helping transform their space into a modern, functional, and engaging environment.

Our work included installing power supplies, lighting, and mounting screens to support their new dart lanes and activity area — creating a safe, well-lit space for young people to enjoy.

✨ Garden Cabin Electrical Installation Complete ✨

Recently completed the full electrical installation (first & second fix) on this 16ft x 12ft prebuilt cabin, now converted into a home salon for eyebrows & lashes / home office 💄💻

🔌 Electrical & data works carried out:
• Full first & second fix electrics
• 9 double sockets installed
• 2 dimmable ceiling lights with dimmable switch
• High-level socket installed ready for a future wall-mounted TV
• 2000W digital heater fitted – adjustable up to 30°C with timer function, ensuring the space is warm and ready when needed
• 4-way distribution board installed with SPD (surge protection device) to help protect computers and sensitive equipment
• CAT6 data cable run to the cabin from the main property (approx. 30m distance)
• RJ45 data socket installed at the workstation for a reliable wired internet connection, ideal where Wi-Fi range is limited

All electrical works were completed after the cabin was supplied prebuilt, with insulation and internal walling already in place.

For a clean, modern finish, all external cables and pipework were neatly routed and concealed, leaving no visible cables or trunking inside the cabin 🙌

A great example of how a garden cabin can be transformed into a fully functional, professional workspace suitable for beauty treatments or home office use all year round.
