We carry out professional tree work, hedge cutting and grounds maintenance across domestic and commercial contracts, providing consistent, year-round work. We operate modern, well-maintained plant and machinery and maintain high standards in both safety and workmanship.

🌳Second Climber / Arborist - JB Landscapes Holbrook Ltd- Belper, Derbyshire

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Second Climber to join our established arboricultural team on a permanent PAYE basis. Standard working hours are 8:00am–4:30pm, with overtime available if required.

We carry out tree work, hedge cutting and grounds maintenance across domestic and commercial contracts, giving a consistent year-round workload. We run modern, well-maintained plant and machinery and expect high standards in both safety and workmanship.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in what they do and communicates well on site. This role would suit a competent second climber who is confident working within a team environment.

We are also willing to consider someone with slightly less experience who is keen to develop, provided they already hold Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting, Climbing and Aerial Rescue qualifications and can carry out an aerial rescue safely and competently. Attitude, reliability and work ethic are just as important to us as experience.

• NPTC/LANTRA Qualifications:
o Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting
o Felling
o Climbing & Aerial Rescue
o Cutting from Rope & Harness
o Manually Fed Woodchipper
• Clean UK driving licence
• Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check
• Strong communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Care and respect for equipment
• Physically fit with a strong work ethic
• Basic mechanical understanding of equipment
• Ambition and willingness to progress

➡️Desirable (Not Essential)
• CSCS card
• First Aid + Forestry
• Rigging qualification
• MEWP qualification
• Towing experience
• Stump Grinder qualification

The successful applicant will be well presented with initiative and a can-do attitude. You will need a full driving license and be able to provide your own transport to and from our premises.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out landscaping work such as Fencing, Patio laying, turfing.
• Carry out grounds maintenance work such as Hedge cutting, mowing, and clearance works.
• Communicate with clients, members of the public and other professionals.
• Adhering to safe working practices at all times.
• Work well within a team.

Preferred skills:
• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or a similar trade.
• Full driving license, towing experience is beneficial.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of tools and machinery.
• CSCS Card

• Salary £21,000-£25,000
