Mild panic when removing a screw to lift a floorboard…
I took the screw out and could hear water running, the previous person to lift this board had screwed straight through the pipe when screwing it down!!
Quickly screwed it back down and drained the heating system!
Luckily this pipe is being replaced today anyway, as well as a new radiator being installed.
That definitely got my heart pumping!!

Small refurb in a wet room yesterday, customer didn’t like getting wet feet when going to the loo after someone had used the shower 😂

Shower doors installed to make a large walk-in shower, and a smaller depth vanity basin as the previous one encroached the route to the toilet.

Look at the state of this water! This was in a reasonably new boiler, this was clearly not flushed upon installation, and it didn’t have a magnetic filter installed either!!

When this boiler was sold to the customer they were probably sold a long warranty, but if the manufacturer went to perform a repair and found water of this quality, they would likely void the warranty!

This black water turns to sludge and blocks up components in the boiler, drastically reducing its lifespan and causes countless costly repairs.

Boiler changes cost a lot of money, and it’s understandable that you would like to get the cheapest quote, but if the job isn’t done properly then it could easily end up being the most expensive quote!

Thank you to everyone for your support, the last few months has been extremely hard, training for a marathon whilst trying to run a business that doesn’t stop when I get home from a days work, but none of that comes close to yesterday, running the Brighton Marathon was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done!

Two weeks till the marathon 😬 a big thank you to everyone that has donated, I’ve smashed my target!! So far I’ve raised a massive £1137 for ‘Race Against Dementia’!!

To show how far I’ve come, after starting my training by downloading the Couch to 5k app, here is my first recorded ‘long’ run, back in May last year, followed by a 20 mile run I completed a couple of weeks ago!!

I’m starting to get really nervous about race day, but I’ll be glad when it’s finally over 😂

Some of you may have noticed me running around Benfleet recently, I’m not doing it for fun I can assure you!

I’m training for the Brighton Marathon this April. I’ve never been a runner, or athletic in any way, so this has been well out of my comfort zone. But i wanted to challenge myself, and also raise money for a fantastic charity, dementia is a disease that has affected my family and also my wife’s, so it would be great to raise as much money as possible to help find a cure one day.

I know times are tough right now, but if you could spare a couple of quid that would mean a lot!
