A look back at the early stages of one of our current projects.

We started by building the footings up to DPC level before installing the block and beam floor system. It was definitely a labour of love, but seeing the foundations come together makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Every successful build starts with getting the basics right, and we take pride in making sure every stage is completed to the highest standard. Quality foundations mean quality homes.

Another busy week for the DC Brickwork team! 💪☀️

The hot weather has certainly made things more challenging, but we're doing everything we can to keep our current project on track while making sure the team stays safe in the heat.

This week we've been focusing on the groundwork, using the digger to excavate and install the drainage for all 4 plots we're building. It's a crucial stage of the project and great to see everything coming together.

We’re hoping for a slightly cooler week this week!

Here's a recent repair we completed on a bay window where the mortar joints had deteriorated and fallen out over time.

We carefully repointed the base of the bay window using a matching mortar, ensuring the repair remained in keeping with the original brickwork and maintained the character of the property.

While on site, we also carried out repairs to a brick pier where several bricks had cracked and become detached. The damaged bricks were replaced, restoring both the appearance and structural integrity of the brickwork.

It's often these smaller maintenance jobs that help prevent more extensive and costly repairs in the future.

On this project, we removed the existing dog toothing brickwork detail due to the age and condition of the bricks. Years of exposure to the elements had caused weather damage, leading to cracking and deterioration.

Rather than replacing the bricks, we carefully removed them and were able to reuse the original materials, helping to maintain the property's character. The brickwork was then rebuilt in a stretcher bond pattern, creating a stronger and more weather-resistant finish.

This approach not only preserved the appearance of the building but also reduced the brickwork's exposure to the elements, ensuring a longer-lasting and more durable result.

Here we helped create a fresh new feature for a customer's garden.

We started by constructing a solid concrete footing to provide a level and secure base for a sleeper planter. Once the footing was in place, we built the planter using timber sleepers, creating a practical and attractive space that will be perfect for planting and adding character to the garden.

It's a great example of how we can help improve outdoor spaces with more than just brickwork. From garden features and landscaping projects to concreting, repairs, and general building work, we're always happy to take on a variety of jobs.

Not every job is a large project, sometimes it’s the smaller jobs that help keep things moving!

We carried out some work in a customer’s kitchen, chasing out the concrete floor to expose pipework so that plumbing works could be completed.

Once the plumber had finished, we returned to re-concrete the area, leaving it ready for the next stage of the renovation.

Whether it’s a small repair, preparation work, or a larger brickwork project, we take pride in delivering a professional finish every time.

We often receive lots of enquiries about patios, and it's easy to see why porcelain tiles are becoming such a popular choice!

This is a porcelain patio installation completed by the team. The clean lines, modern finish, and low-maintenance benefits make porcelain a fantastic option for transforming any outdoor space.

We love a garden wall project!

This property originally had a small dwarf garden wall that had become weather damaged over time and was in need of replacing.
We carefully took down the existing walls and rebuilt them using engineering bricks, giving the front of the property a much fresher, cleaner and more modern look.

A simple change can make a huge difference to a home’s kerb appeal 🏡

Here’s a front garden transformation we had the pleasure of completing.

This area was originally an unused space beneath a window, with a drain and a badly damaged garden wall that had seen better days.

We transformed the space by laying a brand new patio and building a new front garden wall, creating a much cleaner, smarter and more usable area for the customer to enjoy. We also made sure the drain remained fully accessible underneath the patio.
