Watt Site Services has completed a complex enabling works package on a site, including coordinated lane closures with, Highways-approved crane licences, and full secondary protection systems. Our team removed unsafe render from the front façade, safely discharged flooded basement water into a local manhole under Northumbrian Water approval, and executed a series of clearance operations to neutralise site hazards.

A secure, custom-fabricated steel plate with a locking hatch was installed over a required roof breach to prevent access from local urban explorers — a recurring issue on this site. We also provided scaffold access to support the client’s ongoing surveys and project phases.

Project Completion Update 🚧

Watt Site Services has successfully delivered a complex 5-storey non-structural demolition (soft strip) project.

Our scope included:
• Removal of 2x lift shafts
• Dismantling of the full-height external steel gantry
• Removal of multiple staircases, including steel staircases throughout
• Plant room removal from the roof
• Full strip-out of all furniture, fixtures, floor coverings, adhesives/screeds, HVAC, and more – all in line with the project requirements.

This was a logistically challenging scheme, with road closures and waste transportation hurdles to overcome, but our team delivered to the highest standard.

As the week draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on standout projects that demonstrate the precision, professionalism, and capability of the WSS team.

This image captures our specialist works at Cummins — a complex demolition project involving the careful hand-dismantling of a 27.75m-high brick silo with a 10.4m diameter. Situated above live high-pressure water mains and adjacent to operational facilities, the job required meticulous planning, scaffolding design, and ex*****on.

With contract lifts, asbestos removal, and the safe deconstruction of internal steel gantries, the project was completed within budget, and with zero safety or environmental incidents — a testament to the high standards we deliver on every scheme.
