Someone decided they didn’t want to stand on their own four feet anymore having heard it was nearly time for it to start work again following the summer off🤦 so the hedgecutter is on a little earlier than planned given it was being stored at a friend’s farm and was about to take out their greenhouse 😅 but that means we’re ready to go hedgecutting on Tuesday with quite a few thousands of metres of hedges to get through!

We have 25 acres of grass available for sheep grazing from now until October. Will need to provide own fencing and IBCs/troughs but water can be provided by us for additional cost. Please WhatsApp me (Lucinda) on 07887 638079 to discuss further. Grazing license will be put in place.

Another morning of hay deliveries, I somehow managed to damage my back yesterday but the great thing about selling hay is that the tractor and the tipping trailer do the heavy lifting. We managed to have a quiet Sunday afternoon with a lovely lunch at one of our local pubs The Foresters Kirdford 🥗

Our Sutton Hollow Farm hay is selling fast but our hay from Lower Sparr is currently curing and will also be available soon.

It’s been well over a year since this old girl’s done any work so it was a great feeling to get her loaded up today ready for a large amount of work at Sparr Farm. I was also reminded today just how much I love my John Deere’s straight 6 engine as it chugged away up and down the hills, pulling her with ease 🚜🚂💚

We actually had a weekend off (sort of)! After a super full on hay season and other farm work, it was lovely to have some all important family time (with a few hay deliveries in between 🙈).

To finish the weekend before we head into another long week, we had a great visit to Southlands Farm for their beef and pork sale and have stocked our freezer up. It’s just that much better to buy direct from the farm rather than the supermarket 😁
