No one really talks about this…

…but tired teams cost money.

Not in an obvious way.

More like:
• Slower starts
• Longer days
• Slightly lower output

Day by day, it adds up.

And it’s often got nothing to do with the work itself.

Just where people are staying.

What we’re looking for when matching a property to a booking:

Clarity.

Because when a client enquires,
they’re usually:
• Short on time
• Comparing a few strong options
• Looking to avoid future issues

So we prioritise properties where it’s easy to answer:

Will this work?

Clear layout.
Clear details.
No guesswork.

The easier it is to understand,
the easier it is to put forward.

Save this if you manage team accommodation.

The 3 things that cause the most problems (from what we see):

Splitting teams too far apart
Creates coordination issues and inconsistent routines

Booking purely on price
Often leads to more adjustments later

Leaving it too late
Limits options and forces quick decisions

None of these look like major issues at the start.

But they’re behind most of the friction later on.

A quick way to sense-check accommodation decisions:

Think beyond week one.

Most setups work fine at the start.

The real question is:

“Will this still work in week 4… or week 8?”

That’s where issues usually show up:
• Storage becomes a problem
• Layout starts to feel cramped
• Travel starts to feel longer

Short-term thinking creates long-term friction.

A small adjustment early on
can save a lot of hassle later.

From experience, these are the three most common causes of accommodation issues:

1. Teams split across multiple locations
Creates coordination gaps and inconsistent routines

2. Decisions driven purely by price
Often leads to more adjustments later

3. Late-stage booking
Reduces options and increases pressure on decisions

Individually, none seem critical.

Combined, they’re behind most of the challenges we see.

A quick insight into how properties get selected on our side:

We don’t send every option.

We shortlist.

Which means the question isn’t:
“Is this property available?”

It’s:
“Is this right for this specific booking?”

Things that influence that decision:
• How clearly the property fits the brief
• Whether the setup works for the team
• How confident we are it will run smoothly

Availability gets you considered.

Fit gets you sent.

A simple way to reduce accommodation issues before they start:

Stop asking:
“Is this place available?”

Start asking:
“Will this actually work for the team day-to-day?”

There’s a difference.

A place can tick the basics:
✔ Available
✔ Within budget
✔ Near the site

…and still cause problems.

The better checks are:
• How long is the real commute at peak times?
• Can the team comfortably share the space?
• Is there anything nearby, or are they stuck once they’re in?

Availability answers the first question.

Suitability answers everything that comes after.

There are two ways companies book accommodation:

Spend hours comparing tabs, emails, and prices Let someone else handle it properly

We built StayForWork for option 2.

Less time searching
Less back-and-forth
Better outcomes for your team

Simple idea. Big difference.

Most accommodation is booked in under an hour.

But it’s lived in every day
for weeks or months.

That gap is where problems tend to start.

A quick decision made under time pressure
turns into a daily experience for an entire team.

We’ve found the projects that run smoothly
are usually the ones where this part
was given just a bit more thought upfront.

Behind every “simple booking” is about 17 emails,
3 last-minute changes,
and at least one “this needs sorting today.”

We see it all.

That’s why StayForWork isn’t just a platform
it’s a safety net for when things don’t go to plan.

Because let’s be honest… they rarely do.

There’s always a cheaper option.

And to be fair, sometimes it works out fine.

But sometimes it brings a bit of… admin with it.

Nothing dramatic.

Just things like:
• Extra messages
• Small fixes
• The occasional “can we change this?”

Individually, no big deal.

Collectively… it tends to land on someone’s desk.

Usually more than once.
