A recent project cleaning soot and corrosion off structural RSJ's, the RSJ's were being checked for damage and integrity after a high temperature battery fire in an industrial unit. Small precise areas had to be cleaned to allow external technicians to carry out metallographic analysis. All our laser operatives are IPAF certified to work with any Mobile Elevating Work Platform ( MEWP ).

After a domestic house fire, the goal is usually restoration rather than renovation. You want to remove soot, smoke staining, and residues whilst preserving the original patina, weathering and colour variation of the original brickwork so the freshly cleaned area blends with the rest of the building.

Removing soot from a small porch following a house fire presented some unique challenges. In this situation using chemicals or blasting media would have been virtually impossible and, more importantly, unsafe.
By using a 300 watt pulse laser, together with the correct respiratory equipment ( RPE ) and effective dust / fume extraction, we are able to safely remove the soot while achieving outstanding results. Laser cleaning offers a precise, non abrasive solution to delicate environments where traditional cleaning methods simply aren’t practical or safe.
