This time of year certain properties start suffer with condensation and mould, moisture is measured by “relative humidity”. If the relative humidity in your property is consistently above 60% then it is highly likely you will start getting problems with damp and mould, when you have high moisture levels in the home this moisture will at some point condense onto cold surfaces allowing microscopic mould spores to land on and use as a food source once this happens they begin to grow and spread forming visible colonies often appearing as discoloured patches or black spots. Thank you to this company who pushed work our way by not treating the initial damp and just hid it 😉😉.. unfortunately it wasn’t appreciated by the homeowner who had to pay again further down the line to get it treated. 🚨‼️‼️A message for all landlords‼️‼️🚨

We are heading into that time of year where now where temperatures are changing resulting in humidity changing which can lead to internal problems in different types of properties and now “Awaab’s law” is active it requires all landlords with damp or mould in properties to have them investigated within “24 hours” yes your did read that right ‼️24 Hours‼️. There is more than 1.5 million types of mould that exist and while some are not harmful other mould particles are leading to allergic reactions and respiratory problems if these are breathed in.

So please feel free to reach out to us for all your rented properties to investigate and apply the correct treatments needed.

Damp Guard North East are looking for a Damp proofing technician to work on a sub-contractor basis working on multiple projects throughout the north east.

Duties will be: Plastering both skimming and floating being able to use render is a MUST, Removing plaster as specified on sketch plan, Inserting a chemical damp proof course, Floor and wall tanking, Wood worm treatments. And various other duties that will be discussed.
