🔹 5-Camera Hikvision IP System Installed for Thirkell’s Garages – Sunderland 🔹

We’ve recently completed the installation of a new Hikvis ion IP CCTV system for Thirkell’s Garages in Sunderland.
The setup includes five high-definition IP cameras, giving the site full coverage and crystal-clear footage both day and night.

All cabling was neatly routed through containment to match the site’s existing infrastructure, and the system was fully networked and commissioned for remote access — giving the client real-time monitoring and playback from any device.

🚀 LET'S GO!! 🚀

Our new brew house is all in place and ready to go! Few set backs along the way which has meant it has taken a little longer than originally planned but we're ready to get back brewing, woo!!

The new kit allows us to significantly increase our capacity to keep up with demand as well as offering a little more variety including keg and small pack.

It will be a couple of weeks before we have some cask beers available but the taproom will be open this weekend where you'll be able to have some cracking keg beers and take a look at the new kit in place 🍻

This could have been a house fire 🔥

This low voltage halogen spotlight had been slowly cooking the twin & earth cable above it enough heat to start burning through the insulation 😳

Thankfully, the RCD tripped before it got any worse. But not everyone’s that lucky.

💡This is just one reason we always recommend upgrading these older halogen fittings to modern LED versions, they run much cooler, use less power, and last way longer.

If you’ve still got these in your ceilings, it might be time for a rethink 👇

Spotted during a recent AFDD upgrade... 👀🔥

We’ve started upgrading the fuse boards at a care home to new AFDD-protected boards. Not long after energising the first one, the AFDD flagged an arc fault somewhere on the circuit.

A bit of investigation led us to this, a commercial tumble dryer with cables nipping the insulation inside the terminal. Over time, this could have caused serious overheating or even a fire.

AFDDs did their job here, detecting faults that might otherwise go unnoticed. A solid reminder of why these upgrades are so important in environments like care homes.
