3 chimneys updated & made safer this month , 1 repointed with new pots and cowls , 1 partially rebuilt with new pot and cowl and 1 rebuilt with a bespoke new lead tray - new pots and cowls , all with lime mortar .

Incorrect construction and a bodge repair job on the top led to this chimney being totally saturated with no option to breathe , in the end the brickwork cracked under the strain and copious amounts of rainwater would travel down the flue , rusting the stove and staining the customer’s stonework fireplace , we could see from the discolouration of the brickwork above the lead tray that there was a serious problem.
The chimney was partially taken down ,rebuilt higher to comply with Regs to a nearby velux window , new flue liners installed with appropriate insulation and a secondary lead tray made to measure on site .
