We were recently called out to a client experiencing an intermittently tripping RCD. After carrying out a full series of tests, we identified that the RCD itself was faulty.

Following a discussion, we recommended upgrading their older, partially RCD-protected consumer unit to a modern board with full RCBO protection and SPD (Surge Protection Device) installed.
