Much as the 1st photo looks like a wonderful new kitchen, and it is, it wasn’t installed with practicality in mind. 300mm work surfaces, cupboard that are too high and not much storage. This week sees us reconfiguring the design of the kitchen saving our client the cost of having it completely replaced. We’ve worked hard with Howdens to ensure it all matches. Big shout out to Simon for embracing our vision. We’re also working with Roktops, who came out today to template for the quartz work surface.

Lovely to be back at this client’s house again. After we installed their gate and decking in the winter, they invited us back to add a touch of modern to their traditional walled garden. Due to the age and stability of the brickwork, we decided to go for wall mounting the trellis posts rather than top mounting. This gives the client peace of mind that the trellis will stay in place and also gives them the opportunity to grow plants up the posts to join the trellis. An extra course of brick work was required on one part of the wall for aesthetic effect. We think it looks awesome!

A pause on site for the moment, whilst we wait for other contractors to begin the extension. We’ve had quite a bit of work with our wonderful client and have managed to work together with him to be flexible with completion timeframes. But, for now, until they break ground we’re off on some other exciting projects… stay tuned for updates!

So…it’s starting to look more like a living space than a box. The bathroom is now dry plumbed in and mostly siliconed and the building of the workspace has begun. ‘The supervisor’ was her normal helpful self and not in the way at all… 🙄

Flooring is being put down, Charlie came and finished the loft insulation once the loft hatch was fitted, and finally we have light thanks to JTH Electrics , who also did the rest of our electrics and data connection for the conversion. The bathroom suite is now in situ ready for dry fit plumbing on Monday. The ‘supervisor’ was keen to keep an eye on proceedings today and needed extra cuddles due to how many of us were on site!!

We had a little prep work outside this afternoon, in a very sunny garden, for a job that’s coming up in a couple of weeks. Amie and I took full advantage of the sprinklers being used by the building site next door 🥵😂

The panelling is mostly up in the bathroom and there is colour on the wall. The garage is looking like a living space 😊

After 2 weeks camping with the 4 kids, we were back at it today on the garage conversion. The plastering had been completed whilst we were away, so we were spraying on the mist coat today. Due to the wonderful weather, we were also able to spray the ceilings. Only a slight mishap with the spray gun 🤦🏼‍♀️😂😂
