🎨 From Sketch to Planning Application 🏠

We love it when a customer comes to us with a clear vision — and this project started with something a little different!

Our customer, who has a passion for art, created his own drawing to show us exactly how he imagined his new garage and driveway. The proposal involves demolishing the existing garage, levelling the surrounding land and creating a more practical, accessible garage with a usable driveway.

Using his artwork and ideas as our starting point, we have developed the proposed plans ready for submission as part of the planning application.

A great example of how an initial sketch can help bring a customer’s vision to life!

📏 Measure Twice, Draw Once!

Charlie’s out on site carrying out a measured survey for a home improvement project.

Before any proposed drawings can be prepared, we need an accurate understanding of the existing property. That means checking wall widths, openings, room layouts and all the important details—because good drawings start with good site information. No guesswork and no mystery measurements!

📐🐵Bringing Existing Floor Plans Up to Date 🐵📐

CAD Monke was recently tasked with updating a set of existing floor plans for Dudley Fountain Arcade.

Over time, buildings can change through alterations, new layouts and different uses, meaning older drawings may no longer accurately reflect what is currently on site. Our job was to review the available information and produce updated plans that provide a clearer and more accurate record of the building.

Accurate floor plans can be invaluable for property management, future alterations, lease documentation, planning and general record keeping—especially for larger commercial buildings with multiple units and complex layouts.

📐🚗Measuring Up for a Better Garage 🚗📐

We recently visited our customer’s property to measure the existing garage and record the surrounding land levels. The customer is looking to demolish the current garage, level the land and replace it with a new garage designed to comfortably store a car while providing much easier access.

Accurate site measurements and level information are essential when preparing the proposed drawings, helping us understand the existing conditions and develop a practical design for the property.

The proposals will be carefully prepared in line with the relevant planning requirements and regulations for the site in West Yorkshire before being submitted as part of the planning application.

🏃‍♂️💪 Mud & Mayhem – Wish Them Luck! 🐵

This weekend, Ben from CAD Monke and Richard from Ray Vaughan And Son Ltd are stepping away from CAD drawings and the workshop to take on the ultimate challenge – Tough Mudder!

They're swapping computers and spanners for mud, obstacles and a serious test of grit, determination, and teamwork. Whether they're climbing walls, crawling through mud, or wondering whose bright idea this was, we're sure they'll give it everything they've got!

☀️ CAD Monke Holiday Closure 🐒
