A mid 20s single optometrist got his bathroom done! And it is absolutely what you would want as a young bloke. Modern, easy to clean and simple. It wasn’t easy to be fair. So many changes of direction working around plumbing that couldn’t be moved within the budget. Dropped the ceiling and did my best to make clean lines. A massive final day to hand it over. Not every bathroom or kitchen needs a complete renovation. Sometimes it’s a tired tap, damaged tiles, old silicone, a vanity unit to fit, a worktop to replace—or several smaller jobs that have been building up for months.

I’ve put together a straightforward Small Works Menu covering many of the bathroom and kitchen jobs I’m regularly asked about.

The idea is simple:

• Clear guide prices
• Minimum, half-day and full-day options
• No job automatically considered too small
• No VAT added to the prices shown
• Final price agreed before work begins

This is professional bathroom and kitchen work rather than a general handyman service, and it’s ideal for repairs, upgrades and refreshes that don’t justify ripping everything out and starting again.

Prices shown are labour guide prices, with materials charged separately where required.

Something new from Tasman Solutions

Over the years I’ve noticed that plenty of people have bathroom and kitchen jobs that need doing, but they’re not necessarily looking for a complete renovation.

A leaking or tired tap. A shower that needs replacing. New silicone or grout. A vanity unit to fit. A damaged tile. A new sink or worktop. Or simply a list of smaller jobs that have been building up.

The problem is that it can be surprisingly difficult to get someone out for these jobs — and customers often have no idea what something is likely to cost before they make the call.

So Tasman Solutions is introducing a Bathroom & Kitchen Small Works service, with a straightforward menu of common jobs and guide prices.

We’ll also offer half-day and full-day bookings, so if you’ve got a list of smaller bathroom or kitchen jobs, we can work through them in one visit.

The idea is simple:

£10k for a bathroom…. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Couple of years ago, I was having 2 bathrooms done int he same house at the same time

1 was £10k and the other was £7,000

And someone commented “What are they difference prices though - red flag 🚩”

I thought they were joking so I just dropped the 😆 emoji in response

They were serious 🫪

There is no “price” for a bathroom

You can bodge one up for around a grand if you ship about, maybe even less

Or you can spend 100’s of thousands on one

The drivers for the price, in the main, will be the spec and the time required to install the spec

Who wants a kitchen? This one required multiple trades and specialists. Jack O'Grady-Tye for the demo of the wall, steel beam install and plastering. Steve Bissel for the engineering and design. Mark at Stoneage Masonry for the stunning work surfaces. A hand full of electricians and my good self. A few bits still to finish but it’s basically done.

As much as I hate laying it, the herringbone floor sets it off.

The clients are awesome to deal with. So chilled.
