We’re proud to share one of our standout projects : a complete, brand-new slate roof transformation! From the ground up, we began with full scaffolding and skips, carefully installed tile bumpers, and fully stripped the roof of old slates, Velux windows, ridge tiles, mortar, and leadwork. After that, we laid a breathable membrane felt, ensuring perfect ventilation. Then, we installed a new EPS tray system with treated, coated battens (25 x 50 mm). Another high-quality roofing project completed by Roofforce, delivering both performance and a clean, modern finish.

This was a full strip and re-roof on a new extension, where we removed the existing roof and rebuilt it to a high standard using the correct materials and methods throughout.

🔨 Work carried out included:

✔️ Full removal of the old roof covering
✔️ Installation of 300mm Rockwool insulation for maximum thermal efficiency
✔️ Fitting of EPS tray systems to maintain proper airflow
✔️ Installation of a breathable membrane for added protection
✔️ New treated timber battens (25x50mm) fitted throughout
✔️ Finished with new McCann double pan tiles and a dry ridge system for durability and low maintenance
✔️ Installation of new code 4 lead step flashing (12 inch) for a watertight seal
✔️ Ongoing works include new uPVC fascias, soffits & guttering systems

During the strip-out, we discovered that there was no proper rafter support behind the original fascias—meaning the previous installation had little to no structural backing. This can often lead to sagging, movement, and long-term damage if not corrected properly.

✅ We installed new structural support to ensure a solid fixing point
✅ Fitted high-quality uPVC fascias and soffits
✅ Installed a brand-new guttering system for effective water drainage

The existing solar panels and brackets were carefully removed, along with the original ridge tiles, mortar from ridges, valleys and gables, and all old leadwork including the valleys and chimney stack flashings. We also stripped out the original battens, felt, and window flashing kits.

We then rebuilt the roof to the highest standard using:
• New EPS vented eaves trays
• New breathable membrane felt
• New treated roofing battens
• New Marley modern concrete tiles

To finish, we installed brand-new dry ridge and dry verge systems for a maintenance-free, long-lasting finish. All new leadwork was fitted around the chimney stack and valleys, along with new flashing kits to the Velux windows.

Finally, all solar panels were professionally reinstalled and positioned correctly.
