Before & after of this outside lantern light upgrade completed today 🔧💡
The old fitting had seen better days, so we replaced it with a new lantern light complete with PIR motion sensor for added security and convenience.
Perfect for lighting up driveways, entrances, and side access without leaving lights on all night.
✔️ Neat installation
✔️ Automatic motion sensing
✔️ Safer access in the dark
✔️ Modern, tidy finish
Small jobs like this can make a big difference to both security and appearance around the home.

Really appreciate another 5⭐ review from a happy customer 🙌
A lot of people just want someone reliable who turns up on time, explains things properly and leaves the place tidy — so it’s always nice when that gets recognised.
Thanks again for the recommendation 👍

Was called by a new client in Hove as they wanted to upgrade their existing lights as they were showing wear and tear, so here is a montage of the process
1. The lights
2. The prep to keep mess to a minimum
3. The the customer had supplied (had to make holes triple the size with triple plasterboard 🥲)
4. Existing cables showing single insulation (this will cause issues on EICR’s as not good practice)
5. Tea
6. Tea Test
7. A template to make the next 3 lights easier as the first one took ages! maybe a template would be handy to have for installers
8. Lights installed
9. Didn’t need the dust sheet as I tried to eat and wear all the mess instead

⚡ Your local electrician's free bank holiday advice!
If your power trips this bank holiday, do this before paying out for a call-out 👇
1. Head to your fuse board
Look for any switches that are in the middle or down position rather than sitting up with the rest — that's your tripped breaker.
2. Unplug everything on that circuit
Before you touch anything, unplug every appliance on the affected circuit. A faulty appliance is usually the culprit.
3. Reset the tripped breaker
Push it firmly back up. If it stays on — result! If it trips straight away, move to step 4.
4. Plug appliances back in one at a time
When it trips again — that's your faulty one. Leave it unplugged, and it can wait until normal hours to get sorted properly.
5. Check your neighbours
Still no power at all? See if your neighbours are affected too — it could be a wider outage. Report it to your network provider.
⚠️ If it keeps tripping with nothing plugged in at all, or you can smell burning — stop there and call a qualified electrician. Don't go any further yourself.
Hope this helps someone out this weekend! 💛
Save this and share it with a friend or neighbour who might need it 👍

Emergency fault find carried out today after all the lights suddenly went off with no breakers tripped.

Before checking all switches and light fittings, I checked voltage at the RCBO and found there was no output. Swapped out the faulty RCBO and got the lighting circuit safely back up and running again 💡⚡️

Sometimes like this can be tricky to track down if you over think it, especially when nothing appears to have tripped. Happy customer and another safe installation sorted.

⚠️ Strange smell from your electrics? Don’t ignore it…
Called out to a property in Shoreham after the customer noticed a strong fishy smell coming from the shower isolator.
On inspection, the isolator had overheated and started to burn out — leaving visible scorch marks and a very real fire risk. The internal cable insulation had also begun to fail.
This is exactly why it’s so important to act early when something doesn’t seem right. That “fishy” smell is often a warning sign of overheating electrics.
✅ Isolator made safe
✅ Fault identified and resolved
✅ Customer reassured and back up and running safely
If you ever notice unusual smells, buzzing, or heat from switches — get it checked straight away.
