Phase 1: COMPLETE.. Swipe to see the night-and-day transformation, and make sure to watch the walk-through video at the end to see what we started with on Day 1! (Mind your head!)

We took this cluttered, underutilised courtyard on Osborne Villas in Hove and gave it a fresh, modern face-lift. From a forgotten yard to a bright, functional sun-trap, here is what we tackled for Phase 1:

More Space: Lifted, repaired, and relayed the block paving to level the ground and extend the floor area in preparation for a future outdoor kitchen and bar area!

Brighter Days: Repaired and painted the boundary masonry walls in crisp white to bounce the sunlight and make the plants pop.

Bespoke Features: Hand-built oak sleeper beds that perfectly frame the border and double up as extra bench seating.

Future Proofed: Installed outdoor power outlets and laid underground cables getting the space fully prepped for the new garden lighting system.

We can’t wait to get started on Phase 2 - next up is a brand new basement courtyard patio to be laid, plus seeing these beds and pots all planted out! Pictures to come!

Completion: Comprehensive Exterior Renovation 🏠🔨

We are pleased to share the results of a recently completed multi-stage renovation. This project involved a full suite of exterior works, from the front entrance through to the rear garden.

Key features of this transformation include:**

Porch Restoration: A full refurbishment including the removal of decayed timber, structural wood replacement, new tiling, and a professional paint finish. We also installed a new guttering system to ensure long-term weather protection.

Hardscaping & Driveway: Installation of a high-specification gravel driveway. This was constructed with a deep-bed MOT sub-base, grano screed, and a gravel-mat stabilisation system to provide a durable, permeable surface that prevents shifting.

Perimeter & Security: Installation of new timber fencing and a matching gate to enhance the property's boundary and kerb appeal.

Landscaping: To the rear, we stripped the existing turf and replaced it with premium new turf, framed by bespoke timber sleeper lawn edges for a clean, architectural finish.

From the initial groundwork and excavation to the final carpentry and decorative details, our team ensured a seamless transition across all trades.

There is nothing quite like the look of a freshly laid lawn. Our client in Hove is delighted with the end result. The original surface was incredibly uneven and had been taken over by moss, so we started again:

✅ The Strip: Removed the old, mossy turf and cleared the site.
✅ The Prep: Levelled the entire area to ensure a perfectly flat finish.
✅ The Foundation: Added a fresh layer of high-quality topsoil.
✅ The Finish: Laid premium fresh turf for that instant transformation.

From Overgrown & Sloping to a Clean, Modern Retreat 🌿

We recently took on a garden that had become hidden under years of invasive plants and old builder rubble. Our mission was to strip it all back and create a safe, flat, and functional space that prioritised accessibility without a heavy reliance on concrete.

In a narrow, rectangular garden, straight lines can create a "tunnel effect" that makes the space feel small. We introduced a sweeping curve to break up those rigid lines. This simple design trick draws the eye across the garden, creating a sense of movement that makes the entire area feel significantly wider and more open.

What we did:

Levelled for Safety: We cleared the site and used timber sleepers to create a solid, flat platform with mobility in mind.

Natural Materials: We opted for steel edging and an all-natural self-bonding gravel path. It’s firm and stable underfoot, which is perfect for easy access, while maintaining a soft, organic look.

Vertical Growth: Installed new posts, trellis and trellis wires, ready for the client’s favourite climbing plants to take over this summer.

The result is a clean, inviting blank canvas that exceeded our client’s expectations! It’s amazing what a bit of clever design and hard work can do to reclaim a "lost" space.

Update on one of our ongoing projects in Hove this week!

We’ve completely transformed this side entrance, swapping out the old weathered panels and posts for modern horizontal slatted fencing. The highlight was hand-building this bespoke gate on-site, so it sits perfectly flush with the rest of the fence line for a much cleaner look.

We also got the new timber sleeper edging installed, prepping the borders before we strip the turf, level and install the new turf next week.

These are a couple of elements of a broader renovation for this client; next will be a new driveway and the completion of the wooden porch refurbishment.

A Mediterranean Sanctuary in Poet’s Corner, Hove 📍

We’ve just wrapped up this beautiful fencing project in Hove, and we couldn't be happier with the result.

Our client wanted to modernise their outdoor space while keeping it feeling bright and open. By using horizontal slatted timber against a crisp, white painted wall, we’ve managed to create a space that feels like a sun-drenched Mediterranean courtyard. ☀️

The standout feature has to be the contrast - the soft, silvery leaves of the established olive tree look stunning against the fresh wood and clean lines of the new fence. It just goes to show how the right boundary can completely change the "mood" of a garden.

Now, all that’s missing is the tapas! 🥘🍷

"The hardest working trades we’ve ever used....an absolute pleasure to have you here" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is no better feeling than hearing that from a client! Our two-man team had a great day transforming this outdoor space to meet specific mobility and accessibility requirements.

What we achieved in just 1 day:
✅ New Path: A solid, level route created for easy access to the greenhouse.
✅ Reset Stepping Stones: Stabilised and reset to provide a firm, predictable footing.
✅ Blockwork Repairs: We don’t just lay new paths; we also repair uneven driveway and pathway blockwork.

🔍 Why are the stones "sitting proud"? We’ve set them to the finished height for the full garden returf, which is coming up next. Once the new lawn is laid, the grass will sit flush with the path and stones for a much smoother transition.

A huge thank you to our client for the kind words (and lunch!!). Stay tuned for the final "green" reveal when the turf goes down!

This week, we took this garden from tired to inspired with a full fencing upgrade. We installed high-quality slatted panels to give the space a clean look.

The best part? The weather finally played ball! It was a total joy to finish this one up while soaking in some much-needed sunshine. ☀️🙌
