Jardins de Santa Clotilde is a breathtaking Mediterranean cliffside garden arranged over terraces. You are led through the garden by pathways, steps and gentle slopes. Each level opens up to another stunning vista, drawing your eye towards the Costa Brava coastline.
At the heart of the garden is the Stairway of the Mermaids. A grand central stairway that anchors the whole space with classical elegance. Flanked by tall Cypress trees and watched over by beautiful mermaid sculptures. I loved how ivy is encouraged to grow along the risers of the steps, blending structure with nature.
Classical busts, mythological creatures and fountains appear as you wander through the gardens.
As with every great garden, there are quiet places to sit, pause and take in the views. I only wish I could return in a month to see the Agapanthus in bloom. Maybe one year…

Back in the studio after a restorative week in the Costa Brava. Coastal walks, a cocktail or two, and precious time with family. A change of scenery always resets the senses. Stunning sea views, impressive architecture and the fragrance of Jasmine drifting through the warm air.

Client testimonial:

“Angela was fantastic from start to finish. Her passion for creating a lovely space for her clients is evident. We absolutely love our garden, it’s made such a lovely difference to our home.
It was a pleasure working with Angela and highly recommend her and her brilliant work.”

It’s natural for me to support my clients every step of the way, and it’s so heartwarming when that kindness and encouragement comes back to me. As a small business, it’s wonderful clients like these who help keep my dream alive.

Are you lovely and wonderful too, and thinking about redesigning your garden? No garden is too big or too small. If you’re lucky enough to own a garden and want a thoughtfully designed garden tailored to how you want to enjoy your outdoor space, let’s have a chat.

A beautiful Ginkgo biloba tree near me in Warmley, Bristol — those fan shaped leaves get me every time – turning golden yellow in the Autumn. Ginkgo biloba is native to China. It reminded me of my trip to China last year in the Autumn. The second photo was taken at the Wild Goose Pagoda gardens in Xi’an, and more photos from Zhangjiajie National Forest Park where these ancient trees are completely at home.

Isn’t it wonderful how we can enjoy trees and plants from across the globe in our own gardens. Gingkgo biloba is a real stunner of a tree wherever it grows.

A few moments from The Newt in Somerset, where every line, texture and transition is considered with such care. These gardens remind me that true design isn’t about trends — it’s about creating spaces that feel harmonious today and still deeply loved decades from now.
Timeless gardens are built on detail: the meeting of materials, the balance of form and softness, the way planting guides you without you ever noticing. Elegant design lasts a lifetime.
It's always such an inspiring garden visit

What a wonderful way to spend a Thursday morning. Getting together with fellow garden designers to visit a beautiful private garden in Somerset, arranged by
A huge thank you to Julie and Charlie for opening their garden to us, and for the tea and cake that made the visit even sweeter. The countryside views were breathtaking, and I could happily have sat there all day, even during the rain showers!
The terraces near the house were filled with Cistus, Euphorbia, Rosemary and Lavender, with a Wisteria giving a wonderful display, interwoven with climbing roses and underplanted with elegant Iris sibirica. Beyond that, a showstopping border of bearded iris echoed the wisteria’s colour palette beautifully.
Further down the slope, pathways led us into a woodland garden filled with Rhododendron, Camellia, Cornus kousa, hosta, ferns and primula. Stunning dry stone walling and minimal hardscaping tied everything together with such care and sensitivity.
Featured in the May 2025 edition of Gardens Illustrated, this garden is clearly a labour of love — thoughtful, layered and deeply inspiring.

Is your garden ready for summer? I received these lovely photos from a client. Raised borders planted last year filling out beautifully, a new terrace with space to sit and unwind, and Corten screens creating a striking focal point.

By day it’s a calm, inviting space to enjoy a coffee or lunch outside… and by evening the lighting creates atmosphere bringing the whole space to life. This is what thoughtful design does – it shapes how you use your outdoor space from sunrise right through to the last warm glow of the night.

If you’d like your garden to feel this inviting, you can get in touch via the enquiry form on my website. I’m currently booking Garden Consultations for June.

Allium siculum (or Sicilian honey garlic) is looking beautiful in the garden right now. There’s something so dainty and understated about the way those nodding bells catch the light. If you’d like to enjoy them in your own garden, make a note for autumn — that’s planting time for these lovely bulbs.

As always, a wonderful day out at RHS Malvern. This year’s show gardens were especially beautiful. I was particularly taken with ‘One’ designed by Ian McBain — a calm, thoughtful space featuring innovative sustainable bricks from Kenoteq Briq. Made in Scotland from 90% UK recycled construction and demolition waste, and available in a gorgeous range of colours, they’re such an exciting material for future garden builds.
There were inspiring planting schemes throughout the show and some truly lovely displays in the floral marquee. I’ve included a few of my favourite pics.
