𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲?

There are two very different ways to fix it, and the right one depends on what you actually want from that room.
🔹 Want to keep the light, lose the glare? A translucent UV-filtering film cuts glare and blocks harmful rays, the room stays bright, just far more comfortable.
🔹 Want the light gone altogether? A reflective solar coating can block 85–100% of natural light. Perfect for glare-sensitive spaces, but it has to be matched to the right substrate.

⚠️ Here's the bit most people miss: not every coating is compatible with every rooflight. Get it wrong on a GRP or polycarbonate panel and you risk voiding the warranty, or damaging the panel itself.

That's exactly why we assess before we recommend.

Every fault in this carousel started small. On profiled steel roofing, corrosion at panel joints and flashings almost never stays a "cosmetic" issue, it's usually the first visible sign that water is already getting into the building fabric.

Heavy rain this week brought a lot of "emergency" call-outs that turned out not to be roof failures at all.

The roof was fine. The outlets weren't clear. 🚫

Blocked gutters and rainwater outlets cause standing water, overflow, and leaks that look like a roofing problem but aren't.

This is especially costly for commercial and industrial buildings, where a small blockage can mean stock damage, disrupted operations, or unhappy tenants.

🌧️ Heavy rain has a habit of exposing the jobs that have been left too long.

Following the recent torrential downpours, we have attended several emergency call outs where the issue was not a failed roof system, but blocked outlets and gutters.

If rainwater cannot drain away properly, it has nowhere to go.

That can lead to:

•⁠ ⁠Standing water on flat roofs
•⁠ ⁠Overflowing gutters
•⁠ ⁠Leaks into the building
•⁠ ⁠Damage to roof coverings
•⁠ ⁠Internal disruption and costly emergency repairs
