A wonderful sunny day at the plot on Saturday!
Thanks to everyone came along!
We:
π Picked lots more blackberries (and of course ate them as we went!)
βοΈ Weeded the beds and mowed the grass
π΅ Tidied our nasturtiums, and potted up the runaway seedlings so hopefully we'll continue to get flowers until the autumn!
π Tidied our strawberry bed and potted up the runners too, so we'll have even more strawberries next year!
π Found that our next crop of our golden raspberries were ready and ate a few, there should be more coming next week
π₯ Pulled our first (rather wonky) carrots!
π§Watered everything
πͺ Enjoyed cuppas, biscuits and chats
This Saturday we'll be celebrating National Allotments week, and we'll have Tim and Ruth on hand to ensure there's tea and coffee as well as ideas of allotmenting tasks to do! π΅
Everyone is welcome; whether you want to just have a cuppa, do some art and crafts in nature, or want to bring or learn skills!
Maybe see you this week? Saturdays 10am - 12pm, at Rhydypennau Allotments off Heath Halt Road.
Learning the best way to pull carrots!
Nasturtiums all potted up
Strimming the wildflower patch. We'll be leaving the cuttings down for a week or two to make sure any last seeds are dropped and then we'll rake it.
Our grape vine is really growing fast now!
