International Day for Biological Diversity 22nd May 2024
Biodiversity is the foundation of our civilization, its who we are and where we all came from.
As we take a closer look at our connection with nature, it's evident that healthy ecosystems are vital for our water, food, medicine, and energy needs. Protecting and restoring biodiversity is not just important—it's vital.
In December 2022, the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, also known as The Biodiversity Plan, was adopted to stop and reverse nature loss by 2050. The theme for the 2024 International Day for Biological Diversity, “Be part of the Plan,” calls on everyone—governments, communities, NGOs, businesses, and individuals—to support this initiative.
This year's celebration is all about building momentum for the upcoming COP 16 meeting in Colombia. The Biodiversity Plan includes ambitious targets: restoring 30% of ecosystems, cutting food waste by half, and investing $200 billion annually in biodiversity-friendly strategies by 2030.
At KpH Environmental Services Ltd, we collaborate with oil recycling companies to clean and purify the dirty oil we collect, especially from our regular oil tank maintenance activities. We make sure this oil is treated and recycled to the highest standards, making it a recyclable / reusable energy source. Oil spills can cause devastating, long-lasting damage to ecosystems this is why we are very selective with the disposal facilities we use. We are dedicated to trade responsibly, respecting the planet and all its biodiversity.
