We have moved….

Our Pretty Sitting Curtains & Soft Furnishings, Bath Street showroom has now closed but our Tweentown showroom will be open for business again from Tuesday 31st October. In the meantime, we can still be contacted via email at [email protected] or telephone 01934 752725. The Workshop will be working as normal and is open to the public Monday to Thursday 9am-1pm and 2pm-5pm.

WE ARE MOVING….

We are excited to announce that on 1st November Pretty Sitting Curtains & Blinds on Bath Street, Cheddar, is moving to Tweentown and re-opening as Pretty Sitting Upholstery & Interiors.
Our story began in 2013 when Jill Humphrey started her upholstery business from home in Shipham. Moving to new premises at Tweentown, Cheddar in April 2019 meant that Jill could expand operations and provide space for upholstery classes. Then Covid-19 happened: the classes were closed; Jill’s business partner left and things got a bit rocky!
Late 2020 an opportunity arose to take over a shop on Bath Street which was closing. Jill’s daughter, Molly, who trained at Cotton Mills in Truro after completing her Textile Design degree at Falmouth was made redundant due to the pandemic. With a generous landlord and business start-up grant from the local council, in April 2021 Molly set up her new enterprise making bespoke curtains, blinds and soft furnishings.
After 2+ years successful trading it’s time to merge with the upholstery and training business and join mum for the next exciting stage of the journey.
Please join us to celebrate our new venture. The first 50 customers to our new shop purchasing products or services worth £50 and above will receive a small gift bag. In addition, we are offering lovely discounts in both stores for the months of October and November.

WE ARE HIRING

We are a small upholstery and interiors business specialising in reupholstery, training, interior design, vintage furniture and soft furnishings. We are in an exciting period of growth and need to recruit an additional member of our workshop team. Initially we are offering this position on a part time basis with flexible hours but we will consider full time in the future as the business develops. This is an opportunity to get involved with a young business making a big impact.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working on commercial upholstery and soft furnishings jobs. You must have demonstrable experience of using an industrial sewing machines to sew pieces for domestic and contract upholstery including box cushion covers, tailored covers, Scatter cushions and working with a variety of patterns and templates.

Required skills are attention to detail and to quality of finish. Experience within the upholstery or soft furnishings industry preferred.

Part-time hours 14-28 per week, can be flexible and home working option available
