🏠 NEW EPDM FLAT ROOF – ADLINGTON 🏠

Another flat roof project completed in Adlington ✅

This shed roof had unfortunately deteriorated over time, with all of the existing roof beams having bowed, leaving the roof structure uneven and no longer suitable for the existing covering.

We stripped the roof back and carried out a full refurbishment, including:

On this property, the existing ridge tiles were carefully removed and prepared for re-installation. We then installed a new dry ridge system, securely fixing the original ridge tiles back into position to provide a strong, neat and long-lasting finish.

Chimney & Ridge Maintenance Works

We carried out maintenance works to the property, including repointing the chimney and ridge tiles where the existing mortar had deteriorated and weathered over time.

The defective and loose mortar joints were carefully removed to a suitable depth, with the affected areas cleaned and prepared before being repointed using a suitable weather-resistant mortar.

The ridge tiles were also inspected, with areas of failed and deteriorated mortar carefully removed and the joints fully repointed to restore stability and provide improved weather protection.

All works were completed with care to maintain the existing appearance of the roof while helping to prevent further water ingress, deterioration and movement of the chimney and ridge tiles.

Works included:

* Repointing defective chimney mortar joints
* Repointing areas of failed ridge mortar
* Removing loose and deteriorated mortar
* Cleaning and preparing joints prior to repointing
* Checking ridge tiles and chimney masonry for movement
* Making good all completed areas
* Final clean down of the work area

These maintenance works will help extend the service life of the existing roof and chimney while reducing the likelihood of more extensive repairs being required in the future.

🏡 Another Roof Transformation Completed This Week in Chorley! 🔨

This week we completed a full re-roof on a property in Chorley, giving the roof a new lease of life while making the most of materials that were still in excellent condition.

After carrying out a full inspection, we found that the existing roof tiles still had plenty of life left in them. Rather than replacing them unnecessarily, we carefully removed each tile and reused them, helping to keep costs down for the customer while also reducing waste.

As part of the project, we:
✅ Stripped the roof back to the rafters.
✅ Installed brand-new breathable roofing membrane (felt) to provide modern protection against the elements while allowing the roof to breathe.
