Customer called and said her picket fence was being held up by planks of wood after a ‘carpenter’ came to fix it.
As you can see, the original post had come away from the red brick wall, and they had put huge brackets on the gate which were far too heavy and then attached them to the already unsupported fence causing it to wobble and be very unsteady and to top it off they hadn’t even put a latch on it to keep it closed.
Customer didn’t want to spend loads of money so we left the existing gate and fence but put in a new post and then a length of timber to hold the new much smaller and more suitable brackets. Finished off with a new latch and the gate and fence now not only works, but is far more stable.
