What a busy year 2023 has been here at Heritage Property Repairs.

Within the curtilage of Turton Tower there is the ruins of a very rare two storey gardeners Bothy dating back to the 1800s.

Over the years this Bothy has become dangerously unsafe and has fallen into disrepair.

Our team was tasked with making this ruin stable and safe for visitors as soon a wildlife garden will be created around it.

The main elements of the works were Lime Repointing internally and externally, the rebuilding of collapsed internal walls, the replacement of rotten oak lintels with stone and the Lime Flaunching/Capping of the wall heads.

This is one of our favourite jobs to date and we are extremely proud of this transformation of this ruin, more importantly the consolidation works will now allow the Bothy to be used and enjoyed by everybody visiting Turton Tower for many years to come.

This large chimney stack on a Grade II Listed Former Restaurant in Kirkham has been carefully dismantled brick by brick.

Our team have begun rebuilding this chimney using Lime Mortar and reclaimed hand cut Cheshire Red Bricks.

So far we have made it up to the lead tray!

Lead roof completed on this beautiful property in Lancashire. Unfortunately this roof had previously been recovered with rubber roofing membrane which had failed.
Our lead-work team restored the roof back to its former glory using the correct materials for such a wonderful building.

We recently revisited a Grade II listed Hall that we lime pointed a section of last year. Notice the first floor. The stone that is lime pointed is much dryer and demonstrates that lime mortar can evaporate moisture effectively. The ground floor is cement pointed and as a result remains saturated and damp.
