🌟 Project Spotlight – Parbold 🌟

A 20m diameter lunge pen given a much-needed upgrade for Stable Lives near Parbold. 🐴🚜
The existing pen had been suffering from flooding, so the team got to work tackling the problem from the ground up. New drainage was installed along with additional stone to the base, creating a more effective drainage system and a solid foundation for the surface above.
Getting the groundwork and drainage right is key to creating equestrian facilities that can cope with the British weather and continue performing throughout the year. 🌧️➡️🐴

The team installed new drainage before laying the concrete, finished with a brushed surface to provide a practical, durable finish suited to a busy equestrian yard.

☀️🐴 Is Your Arena Struggling With the Dry Weather? 🐴☀️
With the prolonged dry weather and lack of rain, we know many equestrians are finding their arena surfaces drier, looser and dustier than usual.
A few simple steps can help keep your surface riding as well as possible:
💧 Water where possible – regular, even watering can help reduce dust and improve stability. Avoid flooding individual areas; consistency is key.
🚜 Grade little and often – regular grading helps redistribute material and prevents tracks, ridges and uneven areas from developing.
🐴 Vary your riding lines – constantly working on the same track can cause the surface to move and create deeper or thinner areas.
📏 Keep an eye on surface depth – prolonged dry conditions can highlight areas where material has migrated or become uneven.
🔄 Consider a professional remix or re-level – if your fibre has separated, the surface has become compacted underneath or material has moved significantly, it may need more than routine grading.

And remember, every arena surface is different, so maintenance should be appropriate for the materials and manufacturer's recommendations.
