Budding gardeners in the making 🫶

Last night was a really special one as we officially launched our new garden project at Mochdre HQ. What was once a horrible bit of wasteland at the back of the building, often used for fly tipping, has been transformed into something full of hope and purpose thanks to the amazing help of Terry and Ruth from Eden Restored alongside some of our brilliant Mochdre Shedderz.

It was also a great chance to celebrate the generosity of our young people. After their Easter Fayre, the Mochdre Shedderz chose to donate some of the money they raised to support a charity in Africa that Terry and Ruth work with. On a recent trip, Terry and Ruth were deeply moved by the children’s love for worship music — but saddened that they had no musical instruments of their own.

So, Mochdre Youth Shed have donated £100 towards helping provide instruments for the children, and as a charity we’ll be encouraging our other Shedz to get involved in fundraising too.

From transforming land here in Mochdre to helping bring music and joy to children in Africa — this is what Youth Shedz is all about.
