It was fashion designer Margaret Howell who first encouraged us to reintroduce some classic pieces from our back catalogue - what now forms the ercol Originals collection. So we are delighted to have produced these exclusive versions of our butterfly and stacking chair for Margaret. The chairs have beautifully contrasting black painted legs and lists, whilst the seats are in our standard stain finishes. The butterfly chair with black legs is a recreation of a version we did back in the 1950s, but the stacking chair is totally new, inspired by that.

Lynplan was established in 1947 and has been making Tailored Covers and re-upholstering furniture for well over 60 years.

Our head office and works is in Croydon Surrey. From here we send Tailored Covers for ‘Famous Names’ furniture round the world, and Covers for other makes and Re-Upholstery are supplied to much of the UK.

We concentrate on quality and service, rather than volume. With so many specialised skills needed, it's not surprising that training and staff development figure highly on our agenda. Many of our staff have been with us for a long time – some over 30 years.

As more and more of us come to appreciate the value of buying good quality products that last, rather than buying masses of cheaply made items that get thrown away to landfill after a couple of years (particularly bulky items like furniture), we see a bright future for the business.

We look forward to many more years of serving what must be one of the nicest group of customers anyone could wish for, and providing interesting and skilled jobs for our staff.
