Incidents like this should never happen, especially in public spaces where people expect to be safe. Electricity is unforgiving, and when installations are poorly designed, installed, or maintained, the consequences can be devastating.
Harvey’s story highlights a much bigger issue within our industry:
Are the standards, inspections, and enforcement around electrical safety in public environments truly strong enough?
As electricians, contractors, inspectors, and regulators, we all carry a responsibility to ensure the systems we design, install, and sign off are genuinely safe.
