Customer was hearing non-stop scratching in the walls and loft.
After a full inspection we found the soil pipe (SVP) coming up into the loft was completely open – no Durgo valve, no air admittance valve, nothing. Basically a rat ladder straight from the drains into the roof space. They were climbing up, popping over the top and dropping into the cavities – free access to the whole house.
Rats treated, valve fitted, entry routes sealed. Problem found and fixed properly, we don’t just chuck bait down and leave.
