🌱 Is your lawn looking tired, thin or struggling after the drought?
After the long, dry spell we’ve had, your lawn may be suffering from compaction, thatch build-up and poor air, water and nutrient movement — even if you’ve been watering it.
Now could be the perfect time to consider scarification or at least aeration to help get your lawn back on track. 💪🌿
🔍 Does your lawn need some attention?
Look out for these common symptoms:
• Water sitting on the surface rather than soaking in
• Grass looking thin, weak or patchy
• Brown or dry areas that aren’t recovering
• Lots of moss or thatch in the lawn
• A spongy feeling when you walk across it
• Heavy foot traffic areas becoming compacted
• Grass struggling to grow despite feeding and watering
• Bare patches or poor recovery after the drought
🌱 What can scarification or aeration do?
Aeration relieves compaction by creating channels into the soil, allowing air, water and nutrients to reach the roots more effectively.
Scarification removes excess thatch, moss and dead organic material, opening the lawn up so new growth has a better chance to establish.
The result can be a healthier root system, improved drainage, better nutrient uptake and a thicker, stronger-looking lawn.
And if your lawn doesn’t need scarifying, aeration may be all it needs — there’s no point carrying out unnecessary work.
