We’re proud to shine a light on the positive contribution of our Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) operatives and the important role this initiative plays in supporting people as they prepare for life beyond custody.

The Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) initiative plays an important role in supporting rehabilitation and helping individuals prepare for life beyond custody.

By providing opportunities to work in the community, ROTL enables individuals to develop practical skills, build confidence, gain valuable employment experience and take positive steps towards sustainable employment and successful resettlement.

For employers and communities, it’s also an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to social value — supporting people to build a more positive future while helping to strengthen communities and reduce the barriers to employment.

We’re proud to recognise the dedication of our ROTL operatives and the contributions they make to our team. Their work is a great example of how providing the right opportunities can create positive outcomes for individuals, businesses and society.

A powerful reminder that employment can be a key part of rehabilitation, resettlement and creating lasting social value.

It is with great sadness that we remember the passing of John Behan, who sadly passed away shortly after celebrating his 60th birthday, surrounded by his loved ones.

John was more than just a colleague – he was the 'B' in BMH Scaffolding.
John's scaffolding journey began in 1982, when he left school and started working in the yard at Sandwell Scaffolding. His passion, dedication and years of experience led to the formation of BMH Scaffolding in 2003, where he played a pivotal role in building the business and the values it still stands for today.

John's influence extended far beyond the work he did. He was respected throughout the industry and by everyone fortunate enough to have worked alongside him. His knowledge, character and commitment have left a lasting mark on our business and on the many people whose lives he touched.
John will always be a part of the Phoenix and BMH family, and his legacy will continue to live on through the company he helped build.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with John's family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, John. You will never be forgotten. 🧡

On 21st July, we reached a proud milestone on the Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd Head Office Expansion project as the final bricks of Phase 1 were laid.

We were delighted to welcome Bowmer + Kirkland Chairman, Jack Kirkland, to site, where he was joined by Senior Construction Manager Joshua Bredenkamp MCIOB and Regional Director Gus Kedzior BSc (Hons) FRICS MCIOB ACIArb to celebrate this significant achievement alongside the project team.

To commemorate the occasion, our Chairman, Christian Watson, presented Jack with a specially engraved trowel, marking a memorable milestone in the project's journey.

This moment held particular significance for Christian, who began his career with Bowmer + Kirkland as a trainee surveyor. To now be leading Phoenix Brickwork and BMH Scaffolding as Chairman, while delivering both the masonry and scaffolding packages on the first phase of Bowmer + Kirkland's Head Office Expansion, is something he and the whole team are incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to Bowmer + Kirkland for placing their trust in Phoenix Brickwork and BMH Scaffolding to deliver such a prestigious scheme.
