With the warmer weather finally making an appearance, our latest First Aid courses gave delegates the chance to get outside and put their skills into practice.
Using realistic scenarios, we focused on recognising and treating heat exhaustion and hyperthermia—conditions that can quickly become serious if they're not identified and managed correctly.
For those working in the wind industry, understanding heat-related illnesses is becoming increasingly important. Long shifts, physical work, PPE, and exposure to the elements can all increase the risk, making awareness and early intervention essential.
There's a big difference between learning from a slide and dealing with a casualty in a realistic environment. That's why we like to get our delegates thinking, communicating, and applying their knowledge in practical situations that reflect the challenges they may face on site.
A fantastic effort from everyone involved and some great discussions around prevention, recognition, and treatment throughout the day.
💬 How does your team prepare for working safely in hot conditions? We'd love to hear your experiences and tips in the comments.
