Hibbitt's Heating & Plumbing were WINNERS in this months Gas Engineer magazine for submitting pictures into 'The Good The Bad & The Ugly' feature!!!

James came across a boilers flue in Luton that had been cut in half and sealed with some kind of silicone. The boiler was classified as Immediately Dangerous, was disconnected and a RIDDOR filed to the HSE. A new flue bend was fitted. James bagged himself a Clip CO Personal Carbon Monoxide Alarm!

It's Gas Safety Week!

This Gas Safety Week, Gas Safe Register is offering one lucky winner £850 to pay for their year's gas bill and a gas safety check or service of their household's gas appliances.

Gas Safe Register is the official list of gas businesses who are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances. It replaced CORGI registration.

3. Know the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning - although carbon monoxide (CO) has no smell, taste or colour, symptoms of poisoning include, headaches; dizziness; nausea; breathlessness; collapse and loss of consciousness - all of which can be mistaken for something else.

Just wanted to remind everyone to ensure that when they have any work done on a boiler, gas appliance or gas pipes that is it carried out by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer.
There's a brilliant tool on the Gas Safe Website that enables you to find and also check local Gas Safe Engineers.

All you do is type in the Company Name or Company's Gas Safe Registration Number (which should be given freely), you can even check the engineers picture and qualifications to make sure the person coming to do the work is who they say they are and that they are qualified for the work you need completing.
You can always call Gas Safe to check too 0800 408 5500 and never be scared to ask to see their Gas Safe Card.

Hibbitt’s Heating & Plumbing are now able to replace any number of valves and radiators without actually having to turn off the supply, drain the system down or lose water and inhibitor by using our new Pipe Freezing Kit that will benefit not only us but also our customers by saving both time and money.

Hibbitt's Heating & Plumbing has just completed our first RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) report for the Health and Safety Executive. We DO NOT tolerate dangerous gas installers and will not let them get away with dangerous installations. Keeping you Gas Safe :)
