We recently came across a chimney liner that had been fitted for use with a gas fire and the gas fire was live and working, venting straight into the chimney stack under the cope.
This setup is not safe and could easily lead to dangerous fumes, including carbon monoxide, not being properly dispersed.
⚠️ Issues like this aren’t always visible to homeowners everything can seem fine until it isn’t.
That’s why we strongly recommend having your chimney and flue checked at least once a year, especially if you have a gas appliance. Regular inspections help catch unsafe installations before they become a serious risk.
