Fixing other so called “electrician’s” work isn’t something I particular look forward to taking on but it seems to be becoming more frequent. We do like to help if we can.

After a tough week of working on this beautiful extension up in Tayport where their “electrician” decided to go radio silent at a crucial stage in the job.
We were asked to finish the job which has turned out to be a challenge due to shoddy and downright dangerous workmanship throughout. Various wiring faults, live cabling hidden behind walls and live conductive parts in plain sight, easily accessible to their children.

I get a real bee in my bonnet about this sort of stuff. Electricity can kill if not dealt with responsibly. I’ve had a friend of mine helping out for a few weeks under supervision and he is 1000X neater and more diligent than whoever installed this monstrosity. If you see this, shame on you.

We will hopefully have some improved photos of this installation in the coming weeks once we’ve got it up to a high standard. We wouldn’t allow anything less 👊

Time to recharge the batteries and give the phone a well-earned rest.

A few bits and bobs over last few days.

- LED lighting around wood panelling involved relcation of power points and quinetic wireless switching which saved us lifting flooring. A great option for minimal upheaval.

- 7.2kW Zappi charger installation for optimal charging in conjunction with the clients solar.

- Consumer unit tidy up and alteration including use of a wiska relocation kit to extend existing short cable lengths.

- cupboard switch delete and installation a door contact switch for the light. Quinetic wireless receiver for switching of the new picture light.

Recent completion of this stunning two-bedroom flat in the west end of Edinburgh. When we took this one on, the place was completely rotten and falling apart. Unfortunately we lost the before pictures however after a full renovation the place is looking great. The client really knew what she wanted and we were glad to maintain the Victorian feel.
