RECRUITING

Due to ongoing success and our expanding workload we are looking for an experienced electrician/electrical supervisor to join our team.

An above average knowledge of BS7671 and a background in both commercial & domestic installations. Applicant must be able to work unsupervised to the highest of standards with the ability to meet tight deadlines & also hold a valid ECS card.

The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:

• having the ability to work on own initiative and/or as part of a team
• having a proactive approach to working with client satisfaction in mind.
• working to strict timescales.
• understanding electrical drawings & conveying information to others in the team.
• carrying out inspection & testing with a good understanding of expected results.
• completing the relevant Electrical certification.
• maintaining an organised & tidy working environment.
• liaising with main contractors representatives and other sub contractors on site.
• keeping track of material deliveries and plant on site.
• implementation and enforcement of Company policies on site eg Health & Safety. Environmental awareness etc (training will be given).
• working safely and ensuring the safety of others at all times.

The successful candidate must have the right to work in this country and must possess:

• a valid grade card & relevant BS7671 qualification (18th edition)
• at least 3 years previous experience in a similar role
• a good knowledge of current Health & Safety requirements (further training will be provided).
• an above average knowledge of current electrical standards/regulations and building standards relevant to electrical works.
• sufficient knowledge on the use of IT equipment eg computers, ipads, mobile phones

This position includes an attractive rate of pay, pension and paid holiday allowance.

Working hours are: 0800hrs - 1630hrs Monday to Thursday and 0800hrs to 1430hrs on a Friday.

You may be required to work additional hours as required. This will be very much dependant on the nature of the project/client requirements and will be at the discretion of the Company.

The law in Scotland is changing and applies to ALL homeowners & landlords. By February 2021 all homes in Scotland must have a compliant fire detection system incorporating the following -

Smoke alarms in every circulation space on each storey
Smoke alarms in the room most frequently used for general daytime living
Heat alarms in every kitchen
Carbon monoxide alarms where there is a fuel burning appliance or a flue
All smoke and heat alarms should be interlinked

Temporary office coming together. Still some bits & bobs to finish. Carpet tiles down this week and broadband some time soon we hope. Maybe then we can think about moving in and overseeing the development of the rest of the stables now that planning has been approved 😁.

Another successful project working with Thomas Johnstone Ltd

Following extensive renovation works, yesterday we handed over the completed public areas of The Bonham - a luxurious boutique hotel in Edinburgh’s West End.

Exceptional quality can be seen throughout the hotel, further to the transformation of a range of areas including the reception, restaurant, The Snug, library and conference/events room. Last year we also completed the refurbishment of the hotel’s bedrooms, corridors and stairwells which have been met with praise from the hotel and guests.

The results of the transformation are stunning!

• keeping track of material deliveries and plant on site.

This position includes an attractive rate of pay, pension and paid holiday allowance.

This role will be for an initial 3 month contract with a view to being made permanent if candidate proves to be suitable.

Working hours are: 0800hrs - 1630hrs Monday to Thursday and 0800hrs to 1430hrs on a Friday.

You may be required to work additional hours as required. This will be very much dependant on the nature of the project/client requirements and will be at the discretion of the Company.
