Several members of our team recently attended the inauguration of the Japanese Garden at The Hugo Burge Foundation, located at Marchmont House in the Scottish Borders. We were pleased to observe the positive reception of the pond and cascade, which we had recently completed a comprehensive refurbishment of, including the addition of a Scottish Douglas Fir boardwalk and bridge.

This was a highly rewarding project to be involved in, and we particularly appreciated the assistance of a large crane for the precise placement of some of the more substantial feature stones.

If you would like to visit and enjoy these beautiful gardens, as part of Scotland's Garden Scheme, will be welcoming visitors every Friday from June 19th - August 21st. There's a link in our bio.

We recently completed this project in the Craigleith area of Edinburgh, which involved constructing a raised Glasshouse base and steps providing access to the rear parking area. Sandstone Palisades were utilized for the step risers and to delineate the raised Glasshouse base, complemented by surfaces crafted from reclaimed red brick.

The Water Gems team will be participating in a 15-mile walk, commencing and concluding in North Berwick on April 25th. We are endeavoring to raise as much as possible for The Maggies Centres, in loving memory of our respected colleague and cherished friend, Nigel Gray. We would be grateful for any contributions you could offer to this commendable charity. ❤️

A significant portion of the Water Gems team traveled to London last Friday to accept two national awards for our Maggies Forth Valley project and our East Lothian Ponds and Cascade project. We were accompanied by Mark Dunion from , who managed all the electrical work for both projects, , who designed Maggies Forth Valley, and Yvonne, the center manager at Maggies. We all had a wonderful day, made even more memorable by the posthumous recognition of the late Nigel Gray with the 2025 Special Award for Personal and Professional Dedication for his leadership of the Maggies project. Our congratulations go out to all the other winners and category winners. It was a truly special day.

We recently designed and constructed a beautiful garden space on a Portobello property. The primary feature of the garden is a delightful seating and entertaining area, complemented by raised beds on two sides, custom seating with waterproof storage drawers, and an elegant aluminium pergola featuring adjustable louvers.
The bench truly serves as the centrepiece. It incorporates the same Matte Grey Design Clad to harmonize with the retaining walls of the raised bed and Chestnut Composite Battons to match the lovely slatted fencing that encloses the garden.

We are delighted to announce that our East Lothian Cascade and our Maggies Forth Valley projects have both been honoured with a BALI National Landscape award.

We are incredibly proud of our team, and this achievement is a wonderful recognition of their hard work, dedication, and meticulous attention to detail. It is especially touching that the Maggies Forth Valley project was the final project overseen by our late Foreman and dear friend, Nigel Gray, before his passing last Autumn.
You did it Nige ❤️

Our team recently revisited a significant project completed approximately a decade ago in Dunfermline. The stunning water feature and meticulously planned planting scheme continue to serve as a beautiful focal point.

Our Struan and Heath were invited to meet HRH Princess Anne at the opening of the teaching glasshouse, a project that we were the main contractor on. Well done to everyone involved in the project, brilliant work team!
