AETCS Electrical Contractors Ltd is seeking to recruit an ELECTRICIAN/FITTER to work with existing on-ground employees carrying out electrical/datacomms installation and maintenance in commercial and industrial environments. Some of
these environments are considered hazardous, so a good working knowledge of use of PPE and health and safety law is essential. You will be a qualified and experienced practising electrician/fitter who additionally possesses good
communication skills. You will have had experience of handling challenging issues on a day-to-day basis as well be comfortable with basic person management. The role offers and attractive starting salary package and annual leave allowance,
together with company contributory pension scheme. Working away from home on a day-to-day and/or week-to-week basis on an ad-hoc, as required basis is an integral requirement of this role.

 Starting salary: £48,000.00 gross per annum
 Starting annual leave allowance: 25 days per year (excluding bank holidays)
 Company contributory pension scheme
 Overtime available
 Company van provided

The candidate for this role will be qualified to the following level (or equivalent):

 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation (AM3 qualified).

 City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in initial and periodic inspection, testing of electrical installations (C&G2391/2394/2395).
 Level 3 Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018
Amendment 2 2022) (knowledge and familiarity of current IET Wiring Regulations).
 City & Guilds NA7232-(5) - Competence in the Installation and Testing of Electrotechnical Systems.

ESSENTIAL SUITABLE CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE.
The candidate will be experienced in commercial / industrial electrical installation and maintenance including, but not limited to:

 Installation of single and three-phase distribution boards and switchgear.
 Installation of steel tray and containment systems (suspended and wall-mounted).
 Approved cable installation, including installation of wire singles, twin and earth, fire-proof (FP) cables and steel wired armoured cables of varying diameters.
 Floor-mounting and wall-mounting cabinet /panel mechanical installation.
 Understanding of earthing requirements in electrical installations.
 Inspection, testing and certification of domestic, commercial and industrial installations to BS7671:2018 (Amendment 2 2022).
 Candidates will have served 3 - 5 years as a practising electrician preferably in the commercial / industrial sectors.

NON-ESSENTIAL SUITABLE CANDIDATE PREFERRED EXPERIENCE.

 Experience of installation and termination of CAT5/CAT6 data cabling of
both armoured and un-armoured cables and testing of such cabling.
 Experience in installing and terminating microwave radio cabling such
as RG58 and LMR 400.
 Installation of overhead and underground armoured fibre optic cables.
 Experience of panel wiring for operational technology panels and cabinets.
 IPAF 3a/b qualified. In the event a suitable candidate does the above non-essential experience,training will be provided.

Just been called to a domestic problem. Came across this. Apparently its OK to have a cable connector tape wrapped joint in the live meter tail feed - NOT!!! Installation in a poor condition therefore not surprising consumer unit circuit breakers/RCDs keep tripping out. Looks like just another DIY electrical SOS...
