Maybe controversial… but every domestic job I’ve worked on this year has had issues with the existing floor.
Layers upon layers of flooring installed on top of each other — wrong prep, no prep, or failed prep.
This one had 5 layers… all of them failing.
This is exactly why floors don’t last.
What’s underneath matters just as much as what you see on top.
I see it all the time — trying to save money on prep or installation usually ends up costing more in the long run.
If you’re having new flooring done, make sure it’s done properly from the start.
