It has been a busy few months of work for our Cangini flail, which has proved popular for works such as maintaining roadsides and overgrown gorse.

This machine is suitable for undertaking vegetation management and scrub clearance particularly of use for invasive species such as bracken, brambles and rhododendron.

It has been a busy couple of months at MD Contracting, getting stuck in to a variety of jobs from burying a water pipe to landscaping out an old pond.

We have been putting the Cangini Flail to good use cutting hedgerows, and have had our latest addition, a Wrag Post Knocker out replacing rotten fence posts and putting in new strainers. Glad to say the addition of the post knocker has been a great success and a real help on the fencing front.

It’s been a busy week for our new flail, maintaining fence lines over grown with gorse. It’s clear the damage these bushes can cause to fences as well as years of wear and tear such as livestock pressing against them.

For this instance, the best approach was to repair and re strengthen the existing fence line that was overgrown with gorse and bracken.

This was achieved by cutting back the gorse to a manageable size, uncovering the original fence. We then replaced any broken or rotten posts and re tensioned the existing wire. This approach has proved more economic and less wasteful meaning clients can save money by not having to replace entire fence lines, but regain the strong livestock proof fence they once had.

Due to the interest we’ve had so far with this line of work, we are excited to have a new piece of equipment on its way to make the fencing side of things a lot smoother 👀

A new attachment has landed at MD Contracting, with the addition of a Cangini Flail. So far this piece of kit has been put to the test cutting back roadsides, gorse and rashes, to name a few.
