Job Advert: Groundworker
Location: Flash (SK17) and the surrounding area.

We do need someone 11th-14th May in Ashbourne

SRC Contractors are looking for a self-employed groundworker to assist on a flexible basis across a range of groundwork and excavation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- General groundwork including drainage, footings, and concreting
- Excavation support and site preparation
- Operating tools and small plant (if qualified)
- Assisting with foundations, paving, and kerbing
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment

You must be able to get yourself to and from the job sites.

This would be great for someone who has a bit of experience and would like to develop more.

You will always be working alongside Sean.

NOTE: This is not a permanent role. But would suit someone who is self-employed looking for work around their existing responsibilities.

We've spent the weekend over at Yeaveley, near Ashbourne, excavating out a sloped garden for a customer who is wanting to create some off-road parking.

We also excavated out and installed a soakaway.

We'll be heading back next weekend to finish off some footings for a retaining wall and to compact the MOT to level before new ACO drains are put in.

Today marks an important milestone.

The Year of the Moorlands Village - Flash
I was pleased to meet local business owners Emma and Sean Chester, who run SRC Contractors Groundwork and Excavations at Flash Bar Café and Stores recently.
Sean brought his tractor and snowplough along and told us about how he helps to keep the roads in the Flash area passable when it snows, as the community can very quickly get cut off in bad weather. SRC Contractors Groundwork & Excavations

We would like to thank SRC Contractors Groundwork & Excavations for helping to make our Community Garden a safer space by erecting new fences and gates at the village hall. We hope these fences will prevent children from being able to access the road from the Community Garden whilst playing and using the space.

The Community Garden at Flash Village Hall is a welcome space for anyone who wishes to use it. Please feel free to come and have a look at what we have done so far and enjoy the space. If you would like to become part of our gardening group to help maintain the space, plant flowers or bulbs, or just help monitor the space, then please get in touch.
