At Fleming Timber Structures, we utilise engineered I-joists across a wide range of projects, supporting both floor and roof applications.

Their strength, consistency and versatility make them an ideal solution for modern timber construction. Whether supplied as individual components or manufactured into prefabricated floor cassette panels in our factory, I-joists allow for a more efficient and controlled build process.

By delivering cassette systems that can be installed on site by crane, we’re also helping to reduce time on site and improve safety, minimising manual handling and working at height.

This approach is demonstrated on projects such as Maybury Primary School, recently recognised for its excellence, winning Education Project of the Year at the 2025 Structural Timber Awards.

Whether it’s a standard timber frame, glulam structure or Passivhaus project, our team provides technical guidance, cost advice and design expertise from the outset. Our in-house designers develop detailed technical drawings, enabling our factory to manufacture each timber kit to precise specifications.

Once on site, our experienced teams manage the delivery and er****on of the structure, ensuring quality at every stage, with final handover following a full inspection.

Fleming Timber Structures was pleased to deliver the structural timber package for the Kinmylies development in Inverness, in collaboration with Morrison. 🚧

Our scope included the design, manufacture and er****on of the structural timber frame, comprising timber frame walls, roof cassettes and glulam beams. The project also involved the supply and installation of insulation and the internal VCL, providing a complete membrane-to-membrane package. 🪵

The images highlight key structural elements of the project, including timber frame wall installation with temporary propping, glulam beams supporting the roof structure, and moment-connected glulam beams and posts forming part of the building’s structural framework.

A great project to have been part of and an excellent example of modern timber construction in practice.

Fleming Timber Structures was pleased to deliver the structural timber package for Phase 2 of the Bluebell House development in Bannockburn, working alongside Hub East Central Scotland and Ogilvie Construction.

Our team supplied, manufactured and erected the structural timber frame and I-joist roof cassettes, forming the core structure for the new extension.

This second phase of the project will double the facility’s capacity to 48 pupils, supporting the continued growth of this important specialist education facility.

This Earth Hour, we’re reflecting on the role the construction industry must play in reaching net zero carbon. 🌎

At Fleming, sustainability is already embedded in how we operate. We have worked alongside Strathclyde university in developing our measurable and actionable carbon reduction plan with our net zero aims stated on SME Climate Hub Website.

We are working with clients to minimise embodied carbon in designs and approach and our low energy expertise in project delivery is reducing operational carbon through net zero, certified Passivhaus and other methodologies.

Earth Hour is a reminder that the built environment has a responsibility to be part of the solution.

Throwback to the transformation of the Take A Bow Opportunity Centre in Kilmarnock 🎭

Fleming Timber Structures was proud to support the extension and refurbishment of this much-loved community space, delivered in collaboration with O’DonnellBrown and client Take A Bow Development Trust.

The project reimagined the existing 1970s building, creating a modern, energy-efficient facility tailored to the needs of the local community.
