Kerr & Taggart welcomes Zak and Harry to the fold as our 2025 apprentice joiner intake. Both guys have shown they have what it takes to merit their position within the company.

Apprenticeships are the back bone of our industry and we at Kerr & Taggart are committed to bringing through the next generation of tradesmen.

Another busy day out on our new site.

Yesterday we took delivery of the first part of our structural steel order for the ongoing building improvements to the tenement blocks on Maryhill Road.

This was going to be the first challenge, on how we got the steel positioned up onto the scaffold.

With multiple operatives and our Health & safety personnel on site we controlled a partial road closure in order to operate the crane lifts safely and efficiently. All whilst keeping a pedestrian walkway live and not affecting the local businesses/ shops under the site who were able to operate as normal with no disruption.

Another plan well executed by all involved.

Contract award- Happy to be getting our building fabric repair works started for Queens Cross Housing Association- these works will be done under our construction side. We will be carrying out extensive structural repairs to the waling beams around the tenements as well as structural pin backs. Further to this major stone repairs will be carried out in conjunction with steel repairs.

*Services update *

Here at Kerr & Taggart we have always aimed to provide the full package of trades to our clients. But previously this has meant we have had to rely on some sub-contractors, which brings its own issues.

Over the last few months we have been looking to bring these trades in house to provide a cleaner approach. We have been really busy getting this all in place and probably haven’t spent enough time on updating our clients about the changes and services that we now directly provide.

Some of these are -

Painting & Decorating

Asbestos Removal

We are working on adding more to this list in the coming weeks/months as we go through a further growth period.

We are looking for 2 x self employed joiners for ongoing domestic refub works.

Will be required to have experience with the following

🔨. 1st fix joinery works(dry lining)

🔨. 2nd fix joinery works (doors,finishings etc)

🔨. Kitchen installs

🔨. Bathroom installs

Back on the nightshifts for some of the team, As we made a start on erecting these large fireproof hoardings for one of our long term clients. Erecting these temporary hoardings allow the new fit outs of the shops to be carried out.

The guys have been working hard over the weekend and into this week in order to get these built through the night and have the site clean and ready for the shopping centre to open again each morning.

Full-time positions available -

🔨 Joiner - must have experience working within the social housing sector and/or have construction site experience. Will work as part of the current team across various projects.

🔧 Plumber - must have experience working within the social housing sector. Will be expected to work in conjunction with joiners for the installation of kitchens, bathrooms and disabled adaption shower rooms. Gas certification would be beneficial but not necessary.

💷 Competitive rates of pay & pension will be offered for each role.

Clean driving licence will also be required.
