✨PLANNING APPROVED✨

The proposal creates a generous open-plan dining, kitchen and living space, alongside a separate utility and WC to support modern family living.

The design includes palette of materials to complement the existing house, creating a calm and cohesive extension that connects the interior spaces with the garden.

Last week I attended the DIA Awards, this was my first attendance at the DIA Awards as an Architect. I received an award which was a token of recognition for passing my Part 3 Exams back in 2024. As many of you will know “Architect” is a protected title that represents years of dedication. Receiving this recognition from the DIA validated a LONG journey built on passion and perseverance.

I took the leap of faith to set up this year, and I am so grateful to those around me who have continued to push me to become the best version of myself.

✨REAR EXTENSION✨

Have been a little quiet on here lately, working super hard behind the scenes on a number of exciting projects for my clients, and I can’t wait to share these with you all!

Including this one - a single storey timber clad extension in Fife. The client wanted a more flexible work space downstairs, with an additional WC and a better flowing kitchen, dining and lounge area. This includes a large external deck, creating a relationship between the internal and external spaces!

Stepping away from the desk today and into nature reminded me how valuable a shift in perspective can be — in design, in problem-solving, and in life.

As an architect, it’s easy to get caught up in the details, the deadlines, the next big idea. But moments like this, quiet, grounded, open, remind me that balance isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Some of my clearest thoughts and most creative solutions come when I step back and breathe.

🏠Another week, another building warrant! 🏠

This week we’ve been developing the building warrant package for a single storey extension to replace an existing, poorly insulated conservatory. The clients brief was to develop a modern and integrated living space that was more usable and thermally efficient, yet still in keeping with their existing home - so we worked closely with them to do just that.

This week we’ve been working on a Building Warrant for a private client who was keen to make their existing home work better for them and their family.

Their brief was to enhance their existing space to include an additional bathroom at first floor. The existing building is finished in stone and the first floor extension is proposed to be clad in timber to complement the existing material - adding warmth and natural character.
