When a £6M penthouse suffers major water damage, the real challenge isn’t simply putting it back together — it’s restoring it to the standard it deserves.
CCM has recently completed the refurbishment of a penthouse apartment at Lillie Square, London, following a burst pipe that caused extensive damage throughout the property.
The water had penetrated beneath the engineered timber flooring and ceramic tiles, travelling up the walls and requiring sections to be stripped back to the studs.
But the biggest surprises were underneath.
Once the flooring and tiles were removed, we discovered that the original screed was a powdery, incorrect mix. With underfloor heating beneath it, this required specialist removal all the way back to the substrate, followed by a complete re-screed using the correct specification.
From there, our team delivered a full refurbishment including:

One of the more challenging details was sourcing the correct timber flooring and matching batch numbers to ensure a seamless finish.
We also carefully reintroduced the high-quality kitchen and bathroom units, taking every precaution to protect and preserve them.
The result is a fully restored penthouse, completed with the attention to detail expected of a £6M property.
